There's now the official confirmation from the Clinton campaign that Hillary had a medical episode this morning at the 9-11 ceremony. According to the official cover story--excuse me, the official description-- Hillary felt "overheated" so she left the ceremony and went to Chelsea's nearby apartment. The campaign says she's feeling much better now.
Think about that for a moment. It was cloudy, in the upper 70s, breezy and not at all humid in lower Manhattan this morning. It was not a day when the weather would cause someone in good health to feel faint or even overheated. Somehow, however, Hillary felt overheated according to the story.
Witnesses who saw Hillary leave said it looked like she fainted. She was helped by her security team to get into the car. That sounds like more than being overheated.
The press pool that travels with Hillary was not told of her departure. According to normal protocols, that press pool is supposed to travel with her except in case of emergency. Was this an emergency due to "overheating"? Who ever heard of such a thing?
The news that she is fine is being put out by her campaign. If Hillary is really fine, why isn't she coming out to make a short statement? She wouldn't even have to take questions. Isn't she up to it?
All of this is clearly speculative. The problem is that the speculation could be resolved if Hillary would just release her medical records. Instead, she keeps them secret and raises the level of speculation to a frenzy. I don't think this will serve her well in the election.
