Terror Attack on Marine Charity Run

In a moment reminiscent of the attack on the Boston marathon of a few years ago, there was a terror attack at the Jersey short today with bombs found along the route of a Marine Corps charity run in Seaside Park.  Fortunately, the event was late in starting.  One bomb exploded in a trash can along the route, but since things were running late, no one was there.  Had the event gone as scheduled, there most likely would have been many casualties.  The event was cancelled and people advised to leave the area.  A search turned up a second device and there are possibly two or three more.

Let's go out on a limb and call this what it obviously is:  a terror attack.  It's not "workplace violence" by a disgruntled lifeguard.  It is something that had to be planned well in advance, carried out carefully and aimed at killing or injuring American servicemen.  That no one was hurt is a stroke of luck for which we should all be thankful.

It will be interesting to see how the government responds to this.  If we get a two month investigation to try to determine who was at fault and what was their motivation, it's a fair bet that the delay will be aimed at putting any conclusions after the election.  It's terrible to think that our current government would try to put things on ice for political purposes, but I really don't doubt it for a minute.
