Think about Hillary Clinton's health and how she handled that issue. For weeks and months, those who asked questions about Hillary's health were called conspiracy theorists. Only lunatic would question Hillary's health screamed the mainstream media. She coughed and coughed and the issue was ignored. Then she went on a four minute coughing spasm and it was on tape. Suddenly, the coughing was all due to allergies. That was the story. Hillary even joked that she was allergic to Donald Trump. The media charge that asking about her health was only for crazy people came back to the fore.
That changed today. Hillary was unable to stand by herself. Then she collapsed altogether. The campaign told us nothing and then announced she had been overheated. That was it. Then, America got to see Hillary being practically carried into her car because someone on the scene had taken a video of it on her cell phone. Once that video came out, everyone knew that this was more than just Hillary being overheated. Hillary and her campaign couldn't keep a lid on this anymore. As a result, she released a statement announcing that three days ago, she was diagnosed with pneumonia. One has to wonder if the pneumonia would ever have been mentioned but for the video of Hillary's collapse at the 9-11 memorial. The campaign kept important news from the America people. Once again, Hillary's need for secrecy was more important than any need for her to be honest.
So how did the mainstream media react? Here's the way the Los Angeles Times put it:
"Although Clinton’s opponents will surely make an issue of her having pneumonia, her campaign’s relatively quick release of the diagnosis marked a significant step toward transparency for a candidate who has often shied away from disclosing information she considers private."
The Clinton campaign hid her diagnosis, got caught and was forced to admit the truth, but the media congratulates Hillary for her "transparency". What's next? Will the media give Hillary an award for protecting classified information? Maybe they can find a way to praise her support for the overthrow of Gaddafi in Libya that led to a collapsed state, roving bands of terrorists, and general chaos in the region.
Somehow it all seems as if the mainstream media doesn't understand the concept of truth or transparency.
