Today, President Obama says he will do everything humanly possible to deal with the Gulf oil leak. Amazing isn't it? When the explosion happened a week ago and eleven people were killed and the oil started leaking, Obama did nothing. When we learned that there was more oil leaking than the government first told everyone, Obama did nothing. Even two days ago when the oil started reaching the coast, Obama sid he had no plans to even go to Lousiana. Then, under great pressure, Obama suddenly changed couurse and went down there today to see what had happened. Now, he is doing everything humanly possible. Sure. Where was he for the first week plus of the disaster. Could a faster federal response have resulted in the shutting off of the leak by now? I have to believe that valuable time has been lost.
Even during Katrina, Bush was at least trying. By three days after the storm, Bush had the whole government mobilized to deal with the problem So far we have only Obama's promise of today. Let's see how the media handles this.
