Here We Go

The following news just came out from the AP:

A spokesman for North Korea's Foreign Ministry has accused the U.S. of "overt acts of enmity" after the suspension of a nuclear deal between the countries.

In a statement released late Tuesday through state media, the spokesman warned that North Korea will take countermeasures following the breakdown of the deal, in which the U.S. agreed to provide much-needed food aid in exchange for a moratorium on the North's nuclear and missile activity.

As Gomer Pyle used to say on TV all those many years ago, "Surprise, surprise, surprise!" Once again, the USA makes a "deal" with the North Koreans; they renege and then they blame the USA for the failure of the deal. You have to wonder just how dumb the state department really is. Surely they knew that this was the likely outcome. But Obama went ahead with the deal with the NK's nevertheless.

Actually, my favorite moment in this entire mess came when America's ambassador to the UN, Susan Rice, announced yesterday that if the NK's launch another missile, there will be "consequences". That's right, North Korea totally breached the deal with the USA that was just made two months ago and it did so in a blatant and wholly disrespectful way. Basically, the NK's told the USA to go to hell. And the forceful response from Obama and the Obamacrats? If you do it again there will be consequences. Really? I bet that the NK's are quaking in their boots. What will Obama do? Maybe he will freeze all of Kim Jong Un's assets in the USA. Of course, Kim Jong Un does not have assets in the USA, so that would be a perfect response. After all, Obama froze the non-existent assets of Bashir Assad of Syria a few months back.

Syria, North Korea and Iran are three areas that require leadership and an actual foreign policy from Obama. So far, all we have seen is the kind of leadership one would learn in clown school.
