The Police Report on the Martin Case

A copy of the initial police reports filed in the Trayvon Martin case have now made their way into the news in a report from a Reuters correspondent. The reports contain some extremely important information.

1) The first policeman to arrive on the scene confirmed that Zimmerman had a bloody nose and a gash on the back of his head. The back of his shirt "was wet and covered in grass", which is consistent with Zimmerman's story that Martin had knocked him to the ground and was on top of him.

2) The police took Zimmerman's gun and have it in evidence. This contradicts the story pushed by Al Sharpton that the police gave Zimmerman back his gun that night.

3) The police secured the crime scene and did a detailed log of the site over the next seven hours. This contradicts the claim by Jesse Jackson that the police did not even bother to secure the site because the victim, Martin, was black.

4) Zimmerman told the police when they arrived that he had been yelling for help but no one would help him. Again, this corroborates Zimmerman's story, although it is far from conclusive.

5) Martin was six feet tall and Zimmerman smaller at five feet nine inches. This contradicts the tale of the small black teen shot by the larger Zimmerman.

None of this stuff is conclusive as to what happened. It is extremely important, however, to reveal that race-baiting garbage that is being pushed by the idiots like Sharpton who seem to care most about how much publicity they can gather as a result of the tragedy. We all need to take a step back and let the police and the FBI continue their work. No amount of public hysteria will help the situation.
