There are seven months until election day. That's right, we have to listen to campaign rhetoric for more than another 200 days. As a result of this long time period, one would think that the candidates are being careful not to make major mistakes that can come back to haunt them later, but that, it seems is just wrong. President Obama keeps coming forward with attacks that are not just partisan, but clearly wrong on their face. In other words, Obama is revealing himself as a pathological liar for the entire country to see. The other day, we saw the spectacle of a professor of Constitutional Law claiming that 200 years of decisions by the Supreme Court had never occurred. Had Obama argued about the meaning of a particular case, nearly the entire country would have tuned it out. Obama did not do this, but instead chose to claim that were the Court to strike down a law passed by Congress as unconstitutional, it would be unprecedented. Americans may not know the details, but nearly all of them do know that the Supreme Court is the body that decides finally whether or not the laws passed by Congress (as all are) are unconstitutional. In other words, Americans know that what Obama said is not only wrong, but -- coming from a man who taught Constitutional Law -- a blatant lie.
Now Obama has done it again. Two days ago, Obama told a group of newspaper editors that the House budget proposed by Paul Ryan would "end Medicare as we know it"! He had other choice words to denigrate the GOP budget, but let's stick with these few. The audience that listened to Obama should be relatively well informed. After all, if the editors of newspapers do not know what is happening, then no one does. So these folks, for the most part, know that Ryan's plan for Medicare allows present and future seniors to continue to take part in Medicare in its present form or, at their option, to select a private plan which the government will subsidize with a payment voucher. That's right, not a single person would be forced from the current form of Medicare. Not one! It is hard to see how this would end Medicare as we know it!
Obama also said that Ryan would make drastic cuts in Medicare, but this too is not correct. In fact, Ryan's budget projects spending on Medicare at exactly the same levels that were used by Obama in discussing the results of Obamacare. The difference, of course, is that Ryan's plan would actually keep costs to the levels announced by Obama, and Obama knows that he was lying about Medicare spending back when Obamacare was being debated.
In my opinion, these lies by Obama are a sign of desperation. Sadly, a lying politician is not news in America. On the other hand, a politician who tells lies that are easily revealed as lies seven months before election day is unusual. It is the mark of a candidate who is growing desperate. It is the mark of a man who realizes that if the truth is revealed, he cannot win. It is the mark of a candidate prepared to bet his future on the stupidity of the American people. Fortunately for the USA, Obama is making a bad bet.

I believe in our country, however, there are an extraordinary amount of people who like OBAMA & are not coherent enough to investigate the truth.
Ignorance is rampant in the U.S.
