I thought that I would find the decision to allow knives on commercial airplanes less offensive and less idiotic after the passage of a day. I was wrong. It is still utterly ridiculous. Indeed, it is even worse because I finally got to hear the Obama administration explain why it is that they are going to allow weapons on planes. Ready for this? We need to let knives that are lest than 2.36 inches in length on planes so that American rules are in line with international rules. Got it! The Obamacrats want us to be more like Europe.
Have you ever flown on El Al? It is the Israeli airline. It has not had a hijacking or on board attack against its planes in many decades. That is because the Israelis understand that there are terrorists who would like nothing better than to bring down their planes. Care to guess the size of knife that El Al allows to be carried onto its flights? If you guessed that knives are not allowed, you would be correct. Well America also has been the target, like Israel, of major terror attacks. In our case, the main focus of the attack came through airplane hijacking that was carried out with sharp objects used to threaten the plane crews. But our leader is worried that our planes might have rules different from the ones that they use in Sweden or Thailand. It is just nuts!!!!
This is so incredibly bad that I am now wondering whether the Obamacrats came up with this just to take the focus off of sequestration. You know, if a day or so, Obama will come out and stop this change from happening. The media will tell us how heroic a decision he has made to stand against those international rules regarding bringing knives, KNIVES on aircraft. And then we can all forget that sequestration has happened and everything is the same.
