Someone who pays just a little attention to what is happening in Washington would think that the main issues facing America today are gun control and immigration. The same result would be reached were someone to just peruse the media. Well here is a bit of advice for the House Republicans. STOP GOING ALONG WITH THIS SILLY AGENDA AND START DEALING WITH ISSUES THAT CONCERN MOST PEOPLE!!!!!
1. The House should be developing and presenting a bill to revamp the corporate tax code. Changes here could promote economic growth which would help the entire country.
2. Each committee of the House should be tasked with reviewing the portion of the budget for which it is responsible and finding ways to cut spending. This should not be the uniform across the board method of sequestration. No, each committee should present a plan that would eliminate duplication, waste and fraud from the budget. There are literally tens of billions of dollars of duplication that should be eliminated. Imagine that each week a proposal for a different section of the federal bureaucracy were presented and that each saved 1 or 2 billion dollars per year. After ten proposals, the budget deficit would be cut by $150 billion over ten years. Let the Democrats explain why we need 67 separate job training programs instead of two or three that cover everyone.
3. A program of necessary public construction ought to be put together with a funding source located. This can then be proposed as yet another means of promoting economic growth.
4. One or more committees should be tasked with finding overly restrictive and burdensome regulations that are choking growth. Each week a new regulation should be cited for removal and appropriate action taken to accomplish such result.
These are just four simple steps. It is true that these steps will require real work by the Republicans in the House, but they will also force the Democrats to deal with the actual conditions in the country rather than with the liberal fantasies that now occupy their time. Even with the media being controlled by the Democrats, the message will still get through. The Republicans will be seen dealing with the items that matter to America which the Democrats waste their time on nonsense.
