More Dishonesty from the Liberal Media

Do you know who Al Hunt is?  He is a journalist who appears often on PBS.  He is also a major supporter of liberal causes and Democrats.  Today, he wrote a story for Bloomberg that is remarkably and obviously slanted to try to portray the results of the Florida special election in a good light for the Democrats.  Indeed, the story is so one-sided that it could have been issued as talking points by the DNC.

Hunt's main point was that it would be a mistake to view the victory by Republican David Jolly over Democrat Alex Sink as an indictment of Obamacare.  According to Hunt, Obamacare was not the cause of the Democrat's loss.  Instead, Hunt said that the polls showed that the reason for the loss was the registration advantage that the Republicans had over the Democrats.

The story was so wrong, that I sent Hunt an email as follows (in part):

In your article about the lessons of the Sink loss to Jolly in Florida-13, you say,
“Private Democratic polls for the contest showed Sink's loss was due to a
Republican registration advantage in that part of the Tampa-St. Petersburg metro
area.”  The problem with that statement is that in 2012, the Republican
registration advantage was larger than today, but president Obama won.  In 2008,
the registration advantage was larger still, but Obama won again.  In 2010, there
was also a larger Republican advantage, but Sink won the area while losing the
state in the gubernatorial election.  Sink’s problem was not the number of
registered Republicans.

Hunt responded with this email:

"It was the republicans turned out to take advantage of that
registration edge the democrats did not."

So Hunt admitted in his response that what he said in his article was wrong.  He admitted that what actually cause the Republican victory was that more Republicans were motivated to vote than Democrats.  And what motivated that turnout?  The answer is simple:  Obamacare the disaster it has inflicted on average Americans.  Jolly's victory over sink had nothing to do with registration and everything to do with Obamacare.  Of course, what Hunt admits to me in an email is quite different from the article that went out through the media to millions of readers who were given misinformation by Hunt.  Typical..........
