President Obama has approved placing sanctions on about a dozen people who supposedly were instrumental in the Russian invasion of Crimea in the Ukraine. This is Obama's "big" response to Russia forcibly taking control of its neighbor's territory. It's a joke. These particular sanctions were telegraphed many days ago, so the people in question had ample time to remove their assets from any American bank. That means that the sanctions are totally ineffectual. Much worse, however, the idea that imposing sanctions on a few people would change the course of the Russian government is ridiculous. What will Obama do next? Maybe he will ban the serving of vodka at the White House. That should have Putin quaking in his boots.
America is led by a pusillanimous pipsqueak, and, sadly, the world knows this all too well.
