Obama With Longer Hair

On the issue of dealing with Iran, Hillary Clinton seems to line up totally with president Obama.  Just yesterday, Clinton gave a speech in which she called on Congress to refrain from passing any sanctions on Iran that would go into effect only if the talks on reaching a nuclear arms deal failed.  Clinton made the obligatory remark that she doubted the sincerity of the Iranians in these talks, but she said that she wants to give them a chance.  After that, "everything is on the table" according to Hillary.

For the last five years, we have heard over and over about how everything is on the table.  The truth, however, is that nothing has been on the table as far as Obama and Clinton have been concerned.  Each move against Iran, each sanction that was imposed came after a move by Congress and not the president.  Then, it was Obama who cancelled the bulk of the sanctions in exchange for an Iranian promise to have further talks and to convert its nuclear fuel into oxides that would have to undergo a process that might take up to a week before it could once again be put into nuclear weapons.  That's right, Obama accepted a one week delay in the Iranian program and some talks in exchange for waiving most of the sanctions.  We have now learned that during these talks, Iran has been busy getting more material and equipment to speed up its nuclear arms program even further.

Obama's actions with regard to Iran have been ineffectual (if you assume that Obama does not want the Iranians to have nukes.)  Indeed, Obama's deal with the Iranians was tantamount to an agreement that Iran can build nukes when and where it wants.  It is that deal that Hillary Clinton wants to let come to a conclusion before taking any further steps.  The truth is that on this terrible mistake by Obama, Hillary seems to be Obama but with longer hair.
