The Truth Will Out

Often, the endless spin that comes from Washington and the mainstream media makes one wonder if the average American has any chance to actually hear about reality.  A CBS poll released yesterday shows that no matter how much spin is applied to the news, Americans eventually get the truth despite the mainstream media.  Look at these results:

Only 38% of Americans approve of president Obama's handling of the Ukraine/Russia matter.  Those who disapprove comprise 46% of the total.

By a margin of 43 to 32%, Americans think that the image of the United States has gotten worse around the world since Obama became president.  Remember, this conclusion has been reached even after hearing endless stories from the media about how beloved Obama is by the rest of the world and how America is now so friendly to other nations.

By a margin of 49 to 36% Americans disapprove of Obama's handling of foreign policy.  It is not often that the American people take such a dim view of a president's handling of international relations.  Things have to be really bad before the president earns figures like these.

Fully 58% of Americans think that the sanctions imposed on Russia by the USA will have little or not effect on the conduct of Russia with regards to Crimea and Ukraine.  It is a staggering number of people who believe that the current policy followed by Obama is completely ineffectual.

Lastly, 59% of Americans think that the USA is less powerful than it was when Obama took office.

Taken together, these poll results are a major indictment of Obama and his advisers.  Aside from the worst days of the Iraq War, the Iran hostage crisis and the height of the antiwar movement during Vietnam, there have never been such low marks across the board for the foreign policy of an American president.  It is a staggering rejection of Obama.
