Shhhh -- Don't Tell Anyone about Hillary

By now, you all know about the lane closures on the George Washington Bridge and the effect that event had on Chris Christie.  Even though there has been no proof at all that governor Christie knew about the closures ordered by one of his staff, he has been skewered non-stop by the media.  MSNBC has run reports on the story for something like 100 consecutive nights.  There have been no indictments despite a series of investigations.  Nevertheless, it has been Christie bashing time in the mainstream media.  So what happens now that there is a similar story about Hillary Clinton?  What?  You have not heard about it?  Well here are the facts:

1.  DC businessman Jeffrey Thompson was pleaded guilty yesterday to the crime of illegally raising some $800,000 for a "shadow campaign" for Hillary Clinton in 2008.  The money was used to fund "street teams" for Hillary.  In other words, when Clinton showed up at various locations during the campaign, there were people who had been hired to show up and to try to get others to show up at her rallies in certain neighborhoods as well.  The money that Thompson funneled to the Clinton under the table operation was illegal both because it was way beyond the maximum contribution allowed by law and because it (and the street team operation) were not reported to the FEC as required by law.

2.  Thompson did not undertake this operation on his own.  He was solicited by Minyon Moore, a high campaign official for Hillary Clinton.  This is not a suspected connection; Ms. Moore confirmed yesterday that she had asked Thompson to undertake the effort.  Of course, Moore also said that she had no idea that Thompson had done anything illegal.  Oh, Moore also confirmed that she funneled secret Clinton campaign information to Thompson so that he could make sure that the street teams were in the right place at the right time.

3.  Minyon Moore remains a close associate of Hillary Clinton today.

4.  Clinton's spokesman says that Hillary knew nothing of the effort made by Thompson.

So how does this all add up.  Both Christie and Clinton claim to know nothing about what happened.  Both Christie and Clinton had important staffers who were involved with the event.  None of what happened in New Jersey has led to any criminal charges, but the events around Clinton have already led to a criminal conviction.  The mainstream media has gone berserk in covering Christie and "Bridgegate".  And how has the mainstream media covered Clinton?  NOT AT ALL.  It is not that the New York Times or MSNBC have mentioned the story but downplayed it.  Someone who got his news from those sources would have no idea that the Clinton story even existed.  Amazing!
