Even The Media......

I just was looking at the media coverage of last night's vice presidential debate, and it confirms a big, big win for Mike Pence and the GOP.  As anyone who watched the debate knows, Democrat Tim Kaine came to the debate stage with a plan to cram as many words as possible into what he said and to interrupt Pence whenever possible.  It was a plan to overwhelm and anger Pence.  It was also a plan that was a total flop.  Pence batted Kaine away as if he were a fly.  Pence never got rattled; in fact, his calm made Kaine look both hyper and somewhat loony.  As Kaine threw ever more ridiculous charges at Pence, the Republican stuck with the issues for the most part.  It was a total victory for Pence.

So why does media coverage confirm a Pence victory?  Much of the mainstream media is calling this a tie.  Think about that.  This is media that starts each comparison between the Democrat and the Republican with the Democrat way in the lead.  Their bias is overwhelming.  But even they couldn't bring themselves to call the debate a victory for Kaine.  CBS talked about how both Pence and Kaine interrupted each other; CBS tried to share the blame for Kaine's obnoxious behavior.  It was actually so dishonest that it was funny to hear.  Other media people commented that the race for president won't change due to the debate, so it was a tie.  Of course, that too is an attempt to hide reality.  They are making the obvious statement that the VP debate is not something that ever changes the race (at least in the past.)  Because of that, they call last night's confrontation a "tie".  But it wasn't.  Pence won.
