One Last Comment on the Debate -- Worst Moderator Ever

Martha Raddatz of ABC proved last night that she should never be allowed on a debate stage again.  She was, perhaps, the worst debate moderator ever.  America got to see the incredible spectacle of Raddatz arguing with Donald Trump over the proper policy to follow regarding ISIS.  Trump criticized the policy of announcing in advance where America and its allies in Iraq would be striking.  Trump said that telling ISIS that an attack on Mosul was coming gave the ISIS leaders time to flee and took away any element of surprise for the attack.  One can agree with Trump or disagree, but the person who should have told us of any disagreement with those points is Hillary Clinton.  Instead, we got the Raddatz attack on Trump.  Raddatz didn't ask a follow up question; instead she announced reasons why it might make sense to tell our enemy when the attack was coming.  Raddatz actually said that maybe it was psychological warfare.  (Obviously, Raddatz doesn't know what she is talking about, but her idiocy when it comes to military strategy is not the point.)  Raddatz was supposedly a neutral moderator and she was there arguing with Trump (and doing so poorly.)  It was a disgrace.

The debate had the usual favoritism shown to Clinton by the moderators.  Trump was interrupted many more times, by Raddatz and by Anderson Cooper as well.  Trump got hit with many more follow up questions too, but that was just what was expected.  When the moderator moved from questioner to active participant in the debate, however, it was beyond anything anyone could have expected.

The Emmy for Worst Performance Ever by a presidential debate moderator goes to......Martha Raddatz of ABC.
