Bill Clinton told the truth yesterday in a rally in Michigan. He was talking about Obamacare and he pointed out one of the basic flaws in that program.
“You’ve got this crazy system where all of a sudden 25 million more people have health care, and then the people who are out there busting it, sometimes 60 hours a week, wind up with their premiums doubled and their coverage cut in half and it’s the craziest thing in the world. ...
The [Obamacare] system works fine if you’re eligible for Medicaid, if you’re a lower-income working person, if you’re already on Medicare or if you get enough subsidies on a modest income that you can afford your health care. But the people getting killed in this deal are the small-business people and individuals who make just a little bit too much to get any of these subsidies.”
Millions of hard working people are being squeezed dry by Obamacare. Millions of small businesses are being driven under by the major cost increases forced on them. Bill is correct.
But here's the worst thing of all: even the people who get subsidies don't really get medical care. Sure, they have health insurance, but the coverage has such high deductibles that most of them still can't afford to go to the doctor. And to top that all off, the American taxpayer is shelling out trillions of dollars for a system that actually helps very few people but which actively hurts millions. It's a true disaster.
