The attack on Donald Trump by the media because he did not agree to "accept" the results of the election ahead of time is in full swing. That's the story of the debate all through the mainstream media. I wonder if the average American will care about that, however. Trump's answer gave the media their issue to use against him. I'm wondering, however, whether all the talk will reinforce for millions of Americans the idea that Trump is not a politician like the droning Hillary who spent most of the debate trying to talk endlessly while saying nothing. Will he be seen as a breath of fresh air or someone who- according to the mainstream media - wants to undermine our democracy?
The more I think about this, the more I believe that most Americans who watched the debate will be far more interested in what the candidates said about taxes, jobs, ISIS and even the Supreme Court. They will have heard (most for the first time) about the Democrats and Hillary Clinton paying agitators to violently disrupt Trump's rallies so that Hillary could then denounce the violence. That seems like more of a threat to our democracy than waiting to see how the election goes before "accepting" it.
The polls from after the debate will be fascinating.
