Imminent or Not So Imminent

There's a major bit of nonsense that is floating around DC and the media for the last week.  I keep hearing Democrats or media people demanding to know the proof that the attacks being planned by Soleimani were "imminent".  For example, one Wisconsin Democrat Congresswoman said yesterday that Soleimani was not an "imminent" threat to Americans so President Trump's actions amounted to a "reckless assassination" of the terrorist.

This whole line of discussion is nonsense.

First let's talk about hypocrisy.  Soleimani had the blood of thousands or hundreds of thousands on his hands.  The group he led was responsible for the death of over 600 Americans in Iraq and the wounding of many more.  He was planning more attacks.  That's enough reason to take him out.  There is no need for an imminent threat.  Remember Osama bin Laden?  His al Qaeda terror group had the blood of thousands on their hands.  He was responsible for the death of over 3000 Americans.  President Obama sent in the Navy Seals and killed bin Laden at his hideout in Pakistan.  Then his body was dumped into the ocean.  There was no imminent threat of any action by al Qaeda.  When bin Laden was killed, none of the Democrats now looking for an "imminent threat" said anything of the sort.  They understood that taking out a terrorist leader like that was the right thing to do.  It's no different with Soleimani.

Second, let's talk about imminent threats.  Remember, within two days prior to the missile attack that killed Soleimani, that terrorist had organized an attack on the US embassy in Baghdad.  The CIA said that Soleimani was planning more such attacks in the near future.  What's more imminent than that?

I don't care if the Dems disagree with Preisdent Trump.  I do care if the Dems undermine our national security by trying to stop Trump for political reasons by raising bogus objections like this.
