The other day, one of the reporters at the White House briefing on the virus asked President Trump if there was any truth to the report that he wanted to personally sign all the stimulus checks. That was a bizarre question since the vast bulk of all the money to be distributed will go by wire transfer directly into the bank accounts of recipients. In other words, there will be no physical check. On top of that, the checks generated by machine and sent out by the federal government always come with the signature of the Treasurer of the USA, not the president.
In response to the question, President Trump looked surprised and then said the report was false; he had no intention of signing any of the checks. He then moved on to another question.
As I heard this exchange, I wondered what kind of a moron would report that Trump wanted to sign all the checks. That was obviously not the case (as Trump confirmed) and it would also not be physically possible for the President to sign millions of checks.
Today, I learned the source of the report. It was Old Joe Biden who actually not only made the claim but then ripped the President for delaying the stimulus checks so that he could sign them. That's a bizarre claim that anyone with half a brain knows cannot be true, but there on video is Old Joe making the claim.
This kind of bogus claim from Biden ought to be the last straw for him and his campaign. I know the Dems don't want to nominate Bernie Sanders, but they have to get someone other than Biden on the ticket. Imagine a rational person having the "choice" of making Biden president. No sane person could chose that old fool.
