The bomb left in the car in Times Square in New York City overnight is another wake up call to America. This makes two attacks in a row where the incomeptance of the terrorists has mercifully led to bombs that did not explode properly. First the underwear bomber failed in his effort to bring down a plane on top of Detroit. Now, a bomb that could easily have killed hundreds or even thousands failed to properly ignite in Times Square. What does this show? First of all, the USA has been incredibly lucky. Terrorists who were able to get aaround airport security measures and police efforts in New York so as to actually plant bombs that could have caused major disasters have failed only due to their own mistakes. Second, the USA is not safe from attack. The Detroit attack was clearly from Al Qaeda and the Times Square bomb has the hallmarks of similar attacks by Al Qaeda. ONe has to wonder how the terrorists got into New York. Were they here legally? Were they American citizens? Did they sneak across the open border with Mexico? How did they get here? Third, the charm and apology offensive from Obama has done nothing to reduce the attacks. From 9-11 to the end of Bush's term, the US did not face an actual attack from the terrorists on US soil. Since Obama has taken office, there have been four. Two were big duds, but two resulted in deaths including the massacre of soldiers by Major Hassan. One may validly ask whether the Obama administration is failing at something that the Bushies did well -- namely: keeping us safe. I realize that the timing of the attacks may be pure luck, but given the number in the last year compared to the number during the preceding seven years, one can only draw the conclusion that something has changed.
I hope that whatever is needed to end the threat of terrorism is done by the Obamacrats. They need to understand that what they do is more important than what they say. I hope they get the lesson.
