Last Friday on HBO, supposed comic Bill Maher did a joke about Obama. Maher said that he thought when we elected Obama that we were getting a real black president. He said he wanted Obama to go into a room with the BP execs, lift up his shirt so that they could see the gun stuffed into his pants and ask the execs if there was a mother fu….ing problem.
To say that Maher’s joke was inappropriate does not do it justice. I despise Obama as any reader of this blog knows, but he is the President of the USA and entitled to respect. He should also be free from racist humor especially from those like Maher who claim to support him. Strange, isn’t it, how the lefties all say that the Tea Partiers are racist when nearly all of the racism in the country comes from them. Do we really need a comic playing to racial stereotypes on a national network like HBO? I do nt think so. Maher is not even funny.
I have written to Time Warner and asked that they dump Maher from HBO. Surely, Time Warner will not do anything. I think that it is time, however, to start a move to punish those who advertise in the magazines and other media put out by Time Warner. The fools at TWX headquarters should learn that there is a cost to allowing racism on the air.
