Margaret Carlson -- open your eyes

I just finished reading a piece by Margaret Carlson on Bloomberg news. In the column, Carlson makes fun of how imcompetent the Tea Party candidates are. As the headline puts is, the Tea Parties make competence quaint.

Carlson is lefty shill for Obama, sort of like Eleanor Clift with glasses. I was annoyed by her column so I sent her the following e-mail

"Dear Ms. Carlson:

I enjoyed reading your column on the Tea parties and their candidates if only to see how truly stuck in the Washington bubble you are. You seem to be the spiritual heir to Pauline Kael who famously predicted that McGovern would beat Nixon because she did not know anyone who was voting for Nixon. Unfortunately for you, our there in the real America, there are a great number of very angry people. They are angry at the president and the Democrats for ignoring them. They are angry for being called racists, bigots, and you name it simply because they have expressed a view contrary to what the Democrats think is best. They are angry at media folks like you who never fairly portray the public’s opinions, but instead condescend to point out how foolish and stupid the great unwashed masses really are.

Well guess what? Come election day, your precious Democrats are going to be bounced from power. First in the House where there will soon be a large majority held by those very folks at whom you now snicker. Then in the governors races where it looks like we will see a switch from a majority of Democrats to two-thirds of the seats being Republican. (And do not forget that it seems like 9 out of the ten largest states will have GOP governors). Enough state legislature are likely to flip to the GOP that there will be about an extra 15 to 20 seats in each of the next five congresses held by the GOP just on the basis of this redistricting. And, oh yes, there will be effective control of the senate by the GOP as well. You may be right that the Dems will keep the nominal control, but after this election, senators like Ben Nelson among others will suddenly start voting like Republicans. In other words, only the presidency will remain in Democrat hands and that will be for two years only.

So, chortle and snigger all you want. Make your superior comments and laugh up your sleeve at those quaint American voters. Just remember that their day is coming and your day will soon be at an end.

Enjoy it while you still can,
