In an unbelievable display of arrogance, ABC News is out with a piece on how the enhanced video of George Zimmerman shows that the back of his head had two gashes on the night he was brought in following the shooting of Trayvon Martin. In that piece, ABC News says that it had the video enhanced. ABC ignores its prior news stories about the same video in which ABC announces that Zimmerman had no injury showing when he was first brought in. ABC ignores its statements that the lack of injury on Zimmerman undermines the story Zimmerman told police about being attacked. Most important, ABC ignore the fact that other news sources actually enhanced the video first and revealed the ABC story to be false; Zimmerman did have wounds on the back of his head which supported not undermined his story of being attacked.
Simply put, ABC News was caught doing shoddy work or, worse, promoting a phony story. Instead of confessing to its failure, ABC presented the enhanced video as if ABC itself had come up with it.
ABC should be ashamed. Of course, what ABC did is probably just poor reporting. It is nothing like what NBC News did in modifying the 911 tapes to make Zimmerman into a racist when the actual tapes are totally different.
