More Bad News For Obama and the Obamacrats

I take polls with more than a grain of salt.  One has to do that; the polls are nothing more than an inexact picture of the electorate at some point before an election.  They help show trends and but they are not conclusive or even anything close to that.  The poll released today by New York Times and CBS News, however, is so striking that it is worth a much closer look.  First, here are three questions that you should try to answer:

1.  In how many states are there more people who strongly approve of the job performance of president Obama than who strongly disapprove?

2.  In how many states is there a majority of people who approve of Obama's job performance?

3.  In how many states is there a majority of people who strongly disapprove of Obama's job performance?

As you consider these questions, remember that the pollster asked those questioned if they strongly approve, somewhat approve, somewhat disapprove, strongly disapprove or have no opinion as to the presidents performance of his job.  Remember also that the District of Columbia is not a state and is not included in these questions.

The answers to the questions are these:  there is not even a single state in which more people strongly approve of Obama's performance than strongly disapprove.  A majority (over 50%) of the people in only three states approve strongly or somewhat of Obama's job performance.  Those three are Maryland, Hawaii and Vermont.  In eighteen states, more than 50% of those questioned strongly disapprove of Obama's job performance.

These are astoundingly poor numbers for Obama three and a half weeks prior to the elections.  The last time a Democrat performed this poorly in a poll like this was when Harry Truman was president over 60 years ago.
