Here's the latest from the "religion of peace" folks. The Islamic militants in Nigeria have now burned 180 churches to the ground in the villages that they captured. They have also driven roughly 150,000 people from their homes. These figures are over and above the more than 2000 civilians that they have killed during the last year.
Next time someone tells you that Islam is a religion of peace, you might want to mention these statistics. This is not Islamophobia; it is reality; it is truth. It may be unpleasant and it may undermine the politically correct view of the world, but it is reality; it is truth. There is a large segment of the Moslem world that supports this sort of action. I doubt that it is a majority or even anything approaching a majority. Nevertheless, an entire sect of Moslems believe that killing non-believers and destroying their houses of worship is part of their own religious duty. We cannot ignore that fact. We ought not cover it up. We need to recognize that this is not just a few crazies blowing things up; it is tens or hundreds of millions of people who support this.
The real truth is that if we can never bring ourselves to recognize reality, we will never be able to defeat these people. President Obama clearly wants to fight the war he fantasizes about; that is why he limits himself to air strikes when all the military commanders say that will not be enough to win. Even if our elected leader refuses to accept the facts, we ourselves have to do so.
