There have been a series of reports in the last 24 hours about how President Elect Trump and Russian president Putin are going to meet in Iceland for Trump's first meeting with a foreign leader. Sources are British mostly, but the report was all over the media. Then Sean Spicer, the incoming White House spokesman for Trump announced that there is no truth to these reports. The reports of the supposed meeting (which were false) were not taken down, most media just added a section pointing out that a "White House aide" denied them.
How have we gotten to the point where a false report gets made, the media jumps on it and when it is revealed to be false, the media does not take it down? It takes fake news to a whole new level. There's no way anyone can rely on anything in the mainstream media anymore.
