I saw that Jennifer Hudson announced over the weekend that she would no longer perform at the inaugural concert because she did not realize how hurtful that would be to the LBGT community. Okay, I get it. The liberal fascists who threaten anyone who might have the temerity to treat Donald Trump as president got to Hudson. These same people who control the entire power structure of the US entertainment industry have put the word out to stop other entertainers from appearing. It still leave a major question to consider, however.
That question is this: why would appearing at the Trump inauguration hurt anyone in the LBGT community? Seriously, what has Donald Trump done that threatens that community with harm of any sort? The big issue used to be gay marriage; some people still fight against it even after the Supreme Court ruled. President Elect Trump, however, said that after the court ruled, it is the law of the land and he respects that. No one could construe that as a threat to LBGT people. So what else is it? Could it be the bathroom law in North Carolina? Trump said that he thought people should use the bathroom they feel is appropriate. That was last Spring. Then he later changed his position to say that he would go with the state in that the decision on the subject was one for each state to make. Admittedly, that is not Trump marching in lock step with the LBGT thought police or the liberal fascists, but it hardly constitutes a threat to the LBGT community. So I ask again, what has Donald Trump done that threatens the LBGT community with harm of any sort.
The actual answer to the question just this: "NOTHING". Trump has done nothing that might threaten the LBGT community. The only thing giving rise to all this nonsense is the anti-Trump campaign that the Democrats ran in which they called Trump every name under the sun. There's nothing to it regarding the LBGT community, however. The truth is that this very community is hurting itself by going along with the smear of Trump on this score. I am sure that the President Elect has not missed seeing or hearing these baseless attacks against him. If the community wants Trump's help in the future, they are reducing their chance of success by allowing these attacks to continue. Someone of stature in the community needs to stand up and call out the phony attacks for what they are.
