It's official. The New York Times tells us today that President Trump has ended the two party system which has prevailed in our country for over 150 years. The Times says the President is really an Independent, not a Republican. You see, last week Trump made an agreement with the Democrat leaders of Congress that got initial funding for Hurricane Harvey passed in a day and also funded the government and lifted the debt ceiling for three months. Not only that, but the President has expressed his displeasure with the GOP leadership, especially in the Senate, because the repeal and replacement of Obamacare has not been passed. That's it; Trump is no longer a Republican! Now, he's an Independent.
It's amazing how fast the Times has gone from falsely denouncing Trump as a white supremacist who thereby made all Republicans into white supremacists to stating that Trump isn't really a Republican. If Trump is now an Independent, does that mean the Times thinks that all Independents are now white supremacists? I personally know quite a few Independents who will be more than a little upset by that. They had no idea that they were white supremacists, but if the Times says they are, they're stuck and they have to live with that.
The fantasy land inhabited by the people who write the NY Times is an amazing place. Reason doesn't seem to matter. Facts are only there to be used selectively to prove whatever the narrative of the day is. If Trump makes a deal with Democrat leaders, it can't be that Nancy and Chucky made a pact with a Republican. (gasp! People across Manhattan and DC may faint!) No, the Times has to recast Trump as an Independent.
The delusions just keep getting worse.
