A Masterstroke

Yesterday, the United States announced that it currently has just over 5000 nuclear warheads in its arsenal. The statement by Hillary Clinton is supposed to shame all of the other countries of the world into admitting their own stockpiles. Beyond that, this announcement is the Obama Administration's idea of a good way to pressure other countries not to go nuclear.
It seems that the main component of the Obama foreign policy is wishful thinking. No country that I can think of will forego nuclear weapons because the USA has announced the exact number of warheads it possesses. This number, which has been a closely guarded secret until yesterday, might indeed inspire a country like China to step up its program so that it could approach the USA in quantity. Sadly, this bunch of dreamers still has two and two thirds years in control of American foreign policy. I do, however, have one suggestion: maybe Obama could bring peace to the Middle East by disclosing the nutritional information for each state dinner held at the White House for the rest of his term. I can see it now; Hamas will recognize Israel's right to exist once Hamas learns that the potatoes au gratin served to the German Chancellor have less than 400 calories. Who knows what other genius moves Obama can come up with.
