Do you ever get the feeling that both events and the Obama administration are spinning out of control? In the last month we have had volcanoes in Iceland, earthquakes, massive oil leaks, race baiting by those supporting illegal immigrants, we get terrorist attacks in New York City ... well you get the picture. Only today, the president of Iran has asked the UN to censure the USA for making nuclear threats. Then you look at the administration: first they ignore the oil spill then -- after ten days -- they jump on it only to claim that they were in action from the start. Even so, the government appears to have done nothing to counter the leaks from the well. They only are out assigning blame, but that will not help the people whose lives have been smashed by the oil slick. Then you have the line being pushed by Obama and the Obamacrats that the Arizona law is racist and will cause racial profiling. Apparently, they have not bothered to read the law or else they do not want to be bothered by the facts. Now, we have economists claiming that the oil spill may lead to another dip in the recession. The government ignores this. Inflation was at 2% last month, but no one addresses this. the prescription for dealing with Iran is now sanctions, but Obama is trying to weaken the sanctions passed by Congress.
I would like less spin from the president and his people and more results. At some point, Obama has to be judged on what he actually does rather than on what he says. A big chunk of the American people are moving in this direction, but the media still worries entirely too much about what Obama says. When the government plugs the leak in the well in the Gulf, we can all look at how well it did. Until then, all the statements are spin, spin and more spin.
