After reading a piece by Joe Conason in the New York Observer in which Joe argues in essence that Israel is the cause for the flotilla fight and the lack of peace in the Middle East, I wrote to him at the e-mail address he lists at the bottom of his article. here is the text that I sent him:
"I read your piece about Israel. Over the years, I have read many of your articles about domestic matters. As a result, I am not at all surprised by the mindless “analysis” that you set forth in discussing Israel. Maybe in your next article you should consider how the Israelis are supposed to discuss peace with groups like Hamas that only see peace as synonymous with the destruction of Israel and the slaughter of its population. And don’t tell me about the past or whose fault this is. Tell me instead about the future and how peace can be achieved without the end of the state and the death of its people.
The truth is that you do not have a clue."
It took about five minutes to get a response. I got a message telling me that there was no such e-mail address. So there you have it. Not only does Conason spout lies in his columns, he also lies about his e-mail address. I guess he wants to appear as if he is open and honest when the truth is really quite something else.

I'm actually pretty easy to reach. Thousands of people have found me via Salon and Facebook. As for my views about israel, they're no different from those of many Israeli commentators -- including military veterans- who think that the Gaza war and blockade have been self-defeating.
Your tantrum-based politics are not only useless but dangerous.
