Dodging a bullet

In yesterday's Connecticut gubernatorial primary, the victors Tom Foley for the GOP and Dan Malloy for the Democrats. Congratulations to both. And congratulations to the people of Connecticut who made wise choices. Hopefully in November Foley will win and Connecticut will get good and rational leadership for the next four years.

While I want Foley to win, I do not want to minimize the importance of the Malloy victory. He beat Ned Lamont, the man who bested Joe Lieberman iin the senate primary four years ago on the basis of his anti-Iraq-war stance. Lamont was back again trying to satisfy his ego with a win for public office. Like last time, he had essentially no policy positions other than "Hi, I'm Ned Lamont." A review of his various "plans" showed that he was all talk but no information. He has a history of supporting a far left ideology that would have been disaterous for the state. We truly dodged a bullet with his defeat. Thank you Dan Malloy for winning.
