The Washington Post is reporting today that General Motors is contributing to pet projects of politicians. It gave a sizeable amount to a project supported by the Congressional Black Caucus.
I have no problem if private corporations want to give funds to these projects so long as they stay within the parameters of the law. I cannot believe that GM, which is majority owned by the US government is actually giving money to politicians, however. That means that GM is operating like a giant slush fund for the people in power. It has to stop. Politicians cannot be seen to be looting GM for their personal projects. That is true of both Democrats and Republicans.
