Yet another harbinger of the coming avalanche -- Pennsylvania 7
The first public poll is out now for Pennsylvania congressional district 7, the home district of Joe Sestak, the Democrat now running for the Senate. This suburban Philadelphia district has trended towards the Democrats in recent years. Now, the Republican is ahead in the poll by 49-45%. This district's return to the Republican fold is part of the movement away from Obama, but this time the group that is moving away is the middle to upper middle class suburban vote. Much has been made of the major movement by white working class voters away from Obama and the Democrats, but this poll in Pa-7 shows that that move is not limited just to working class voters. Indeed, it appears that every segment of society other than African Americans has moved away from Obama.
