Thank you President Obama

The biggest health insurer in Connecticut Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield has just been given approval by the state to raise premiums up to 47%. the mamouth increase is due to new mandates that come from Obamacare. In his usual fashion, Attorney General Richard Blumenthal sent a letter to the Insurance Commissioner demanding to know why there were such large increases. In response, the Insurance Commissioner wrote that the rates were not due to any increase in profits for the health plan. Instead, he said , "The rates that were filed and approved reflect the current cost to deliver care and the impact of more comprehensive benefit designs required under the federal healthcare reform law. If the attorney general wants to complain to someone, he should complain to Congress."

Blumenthal, of course, has been a big supporter of Obamacare. He does not realize that if you mandate a big increase in coverage for the insurance plans, then there will be a big increase in premiums as well.

I just want to take a moment to thank President Obama for this wonderful 47% increase in health insurance costs due to his signature achievement that he promised would bend the cost curve down. My guess is that if you took Obama's intelligence and added it to Blumenthal's you could maybe find enough to create a moron.
