The quote of the day

The latest winner for quote of the day comes from President Obama who yesterday aid this:

"Part of the reason that our politics seems so tough right now and facts and science and argument does [sic] not seem to be winning the day all the time is because we're hardwired not to always think clearly when we're scared. And the country is scared."

The arrogance and condescension of this statement is extraordinary. The reason that the Democrats Progressive message is losing is that people are too scared to see that it is correct. Obama ignores the millions who are angry that the Democrats did not listen to the people on healthcare. He ignores the millions who are annoyed that none of the Democrats' efforts with regard to the economy worked to improve conditions. He ignores the annoyance of millions more at the huge debt that he stuck upon the country. Even when the subject is science -- like climate change -- he ignores the people who question the validity of the science now that we know that the principal source for demonstrating supposed global warming caused by man appears to have been created through fraudulent manipulation of the actual data.

The truth is that the one who is not thinking straight because he is scared is Obama. He is frightened that the American people no longer blithely follow him after one of his vapid speeches. He is frightened that he is actually being asked for accomplishments and not just statement. He is frightened now that he realizes that most Americans do not hold him in the high regard with which he holds himself. Most of all, he is frightened at his impending loss of power. As a president facing a Congress that will not simply drink the Koolade, Obama will be forced to actually deal logically and truthfully with Congress in order to get anything accomplished. It was not supposed to be this way. After two years of pushing an illogical and destructive agenda on the country, he was still supposed to be the pied piper leading us down whatever path he wanted. The loss of his plan must be truly frightening.
