Egypt Gets Rid of Morsi and Amazingly it is also a loss for Obama

The Egyptian military today threw out Mohamed Morsi as president in Egypt.  Morsi was the representative of the Moslem Brotherhood who was leading Egypt to dictatorship, Islamic totalitarianism and economic ruin.  After taking office, Morsi took a few actions that were declared invalid by the supreme court of Egypt; Morsi then issued a decree to invalidate the court decision and to give himself total control.  After outbursts of protest, Morsi backed off.  When Morsi failed to get exactly what he wanted from the parliament, he began again to rule by decree.  Morsi got rid of the highest ranking officers in the army in order to put his own people in charge, but still the military ousted him when things got too bad.

The point here is that millions of Egyptians engaged in protests and the military stepped in to prevent a civil war.  Morsi is gone.  The chance of a totalitarian Islamicist ruling in Egypt has gone for the moment too.  Sharia law will not be in control.  Minority groups like the Coptic Christians need not fear repression by the government.

One would think that this move would be pleasing to Washington and that president Obama would support it.  Remember, two years ago, Obama was quick to call on then president Mubarak to leave in the face of ongoing protests.  This time, the protests seem to have gotten the result that would have been nice to see last time.  The fools who run our foreign policy and the feckless Obama, however, now say things like they cannot interfere with Egyptian affairs.  (get it:  it was okay to tell Mubarak to go, but not Morsi.)  America is actually seen in Egypt as the defender of the Moslem Brotherhood president.  Only a group of amateurs as rank as those who surround Obama could have managed to get American foreign policy so twisted that we have become the enemy of the Egyptian people for defending the Moslem Brotherhood.  What will Obama's next move be:  defending the mullahs in Iran?
