More Criminal Actions at the IRS

The Washington Times has an article today reporting that IRS personnel improperly leaked the tax returns of political candidates and contributors and even put the candidates and contributors through audits just because of who they were.  The Inspector General of the IRS told senator Grassley of Iowa that instances of "willful" misuse or IRS information were given to the Department of Justice, but DOJ declined to prosecute the criminal acts.

Isn't it amazing!  We first started with a "few rogue agents in Cincinnati" who mistakenly put conservative groups up for special treatment.  Then we went to many agents in Cincinnati who were involved.  Then we went to folks at the IRS in Washington who were managing the effort, but no one in the Administration (as if the IRS were somehow not part of the Administration.)  That grew to agents under the direct control of Washington leaking confidential tax return information to liberal groups in order to attack conservatives, Christians, Jews and pro-life groups.  Then we learned that the leaked info went, among others, to the co-chair of Obama's re-election campaign.  Next came the news that Cabinet officials knew about the IRS misconduct for over a year before it went public including about six months prior to the election, but nothing was done to stop it.  Then we hear that the White House Chief of Staff and the Counsel to the President and others at the White House knew all about the IRS misconduct for a month before it went public, but supposedly they kept this killer information from President Obama himself. And, of course, Obama has done nothing at all about this mess to date.  That is where we were as of yesterday, but it just got worse, WORSE!!!!

We now know that not only did Obama do nothing about the mess at the IRS, he and his people are actively working to conceal its true extent.  When the Inspector General of the IRS sends a referral to the Department of Justice concerning intentional, indeed willful, misuse of confidential tax returns by IRS employees, DOJ is supposed to prosecute those involved in the criminal behavior.  DOJ, even under Eric Holder, is not supposed to decline to prosecute because the IRS people involved were attacking Obama's enemies.  The IRS is not the KGB.  Obama and the Obamacrats are subverting the entire American system of government.
