Not Yet Please, Not Yet

On Friday, Quinnipiac released a poll showing potential matchups for the 2016 presidential race.  Yuk!  It's about three and a half years until that election.  There is no need for those polls.  We have no idea if Clinton, Biden, Christie or Paul will even run for the office or even be alive in 2016.

In 2010 and 2011, people lamented that the presidential race was so extended.  Not many people paid close attention to that race in those years, but it was in full swing nevertheless.  It took media attention from the actual problems facing the country and prevented most of the possible resolutions from taking place.  Extending the presidential race even further would essentially make it that much harder to deal with America's present difficulties.  The media needs to exercise restraint.

Okay, I realize I just said that the media needs to exercise restraint.  That is much like telling an alcoholic not to drink or a heroin addict not to shoot up.  It does not matter, though.  The 2016 campaign ought not start until well into 2015, PLEASE!!!!!
