London newspaper Al-Hayat is reporting that Secretary of State Kerry is proposing another "peace plan" for Israel and the Palestinians that begins with a freeze of "settlement" construction by the Israelis. How stupid is that! Three years ago, the USA pressured Israel into a ten month freeze of so called settlement construction which led to nothing, not even talks. The settlements are just an excuse that the president of the Palestinian Authority uses as an excuse to avoid talking.
Israel should not agree to this plan. Settlements include such things as apartment buildings in Jerusalem and its suburbs. America ought not be pushing a plan that seeks to keep Jews and Arabs separate in the holy city. It is the capital of Israel and they need not keep part of their capital free of Israeli citizens. To do so would be crazy.
Kerry really is the dumbest Secretary of State in a long time, maybe ever.
