This afternoon, Texas governor Rick Perry announced that he will not run for re-election. As usual, the coverage is more about whether he will run again for president than his record as governor.
Rick, I know you did not ask, but here is a bit of advice about running for president: DON'T DO IT!!!!
If you had run and lost last time but made a credible showing, things might be different. BUT YOU DID NOT. Had there been such a vote, you would have been selected as candidate most likely an ignoramus. You couldn't remember your own positions. You came across as mentally deficient and your support collapsed as a result. Don't waste your time or ours. Some things can't be changed. A wide-spread national perception that one is a moron is one of those things.
