O used to be for orator

during the presidential campaign, Barack Obama was a spellbinding orator. What has happened? He used to get praise even from his opponents for his delivery and his ability to inspire. Now all he gets is criticism even from his supporters. I was truly surprised to see an article on Yahoo news this morning discussing the president's "stumbling" and "flat" speech. Yahoo news always treated Obama as if he could walk on water and now it makes clear he cannot even swim well. Sure people are disappointed by Obama's inability to achieve any improvement in the economy, his strange mistreatment of US allies and his coddling of our opponents. Yes, many people are aghast at his tone-deaf conduct on healthcare where he pushed through a very unpopular plan despite loud protests from the majority of Americans. His mismanagement of the gulf oil spill has not helped. But all of this should not have affected his speaking style. The words have not changed -- he has the same writers. So what is it? I think that Americans are willing to hear platitudes from a candidate and then fill in the blanks with what they expect to happen. From a president, we need results. Absent results, there is nothing a president can say that will get him approval.

For nearly two years, the Obama folks have not understood the need for good results. To them, the most important thing has always been what get said, not what actually happens. the past is rewritten to accomodate something nice to say. Problems get ignored in order to provide for good speaking points. but it does not and will not work. Come November, the proof will be presented to Obama and the obamacrats.
