Emmanuel Macron, the French president, is married to a woman who is much, much older than he. In fact, she was his teacher in school and is old enough to be his mother. Meanwhile, Jeremy Corbyn, the leader of the British Labour party is married to a woman 20 years his junior who is young enough to be his daughter. She is a native of Mexico whom Corbyn met during the time he was divorcing his second wife.
That started me wondering. Would it make sense for Mrs. Macron to switch husbands with Mrs. Corbyn? Such a move would seem to restore symmetry to the European political scene. It would also give the French and English papers enough to write about for many months.
