When the story of Hillary Clinton's private and unsecured email server broke, the Duchess of Deception told reporters that no classified information was sent or received on her system. That position lasted for a while until the State Department complied with a court order to release the emails that Clinton had turned over from her server. The number of classified emails was huge and it kept rising as more and more of the emails were released. Ultimately, there were over 2000 classified documents on Hillary's server. During this process, Hillary changed her story. No longer did none of the emails contain classified information; no, the new story was that nothing she sent or received was "marked classified". If you've followed the story, you have heard at least one hundred times either Clinton herself or one of her surrogates tell you that nothing was "marked classified".
That claim that nothing was marked classified just fell apart. Catherine Herridge of Fox News who has done great work on the story is now reporting on email from Hillary's server which were marked classified when Hillary read the email. This means that Hillary's email story is crumbling.
But it gets worse. The story by Herridge includes a very significant statement from Sidney Blumenthal. Blumenthal has long been one of Hillary's closest associates. What Blumenthal says is always the Clinton talking point of the day. And listen to what Blumenthal has to say about Guccifer, the Romanian hacker who says that he hacked into Hillary's email server. Blumenthal's exact words to Fox News are these:
"Marcel Lazar [Guccifer's real name] is a Romanian. He worked from a Russian server. He may well be part of a Russian information operation."
Think about that statement. It's devastating to Hillary's position if Russian intelligence hacked into her home-brew server and read all those classified email. Why would Sidney Blumenthal of all people be saying this now? The answer is rather obvious. Guccifer is currently in American custody and he has been cooperating with the FBI in its criminal investigation of Hillary. Most likely, Guccifer has told the FBI that not only did he hack into Clinton's server but that he did it for Russian intelligence. Hillary's lawyers must have been told of this in their dealing with the FBI and she is now leaking the news through Blumenthal so that it can be called "old news" and ignored when it is released by the FBI as part of its recommendation regarding indictment.
That strategy, however, will never work. Hillary's defense on the email just collapsed, and she knows it.
