It has been clear since the Orlando attack that president Obama, Hillary Clinton and the Democrats do not want to blame Islamic terrorism for the murder of 50 people at a gay club. That has led to such nonsensical stunts as editing out references to Allah, to the leader of ISIS and to ISIS itself from the calls in which the Orlando terrorist explains to police why he was killing people. Yesterday, the Attorney General said she is investigating why the terrorist acted, as if we did not already know. Today, however, the left opened a new and rather disgusting front in its battle to hide the truth. Univision is airing a story in which an unnamed source says that the terrorist, Omar Mateen, was actually gay and was taking revenge because some Puerto Rican gays at the club did not treat him nicely. You get it, right? The gays who were murdered were at fault. They, or other gays who frequented the club, were mean to poor Omar. Omar was the real victim because one of those evil gays said something bad about him.
It's disgusting just how low the left will go in its effort to disguise Islamic terrorism. There are 50 people dead and now Univision is going to smear them. Even worse, Univision is going to turn Mateen into a victim. He is no victim. He is a terrorist. He announced to the world his reasons for murdering innocent people. He said nothing about revenge for his own mistreatment. His wife said nothing about revenge for his mistreatment. His father said nothing about revenge for his mistreatment. None of the survivors of the attack reported hearing him say anything that might indicate that this was revenge for mistreatment. All we hear is that one ANONYMOUS source is telling the new story.
If you think about it, this new (and no doubt phony) story is just the sort of thing that the left would dream up as an excuse. A poor man is victimized by what is said to him, not what is done to him. No doubt because he had not "safe space", he did the only thing he could and planned a mass killing which he then carried out. It's part of the old adage on the left "Sticks and stones may break my bones, but names lead to mass murder."
So there you have it. Fifty people are killed at a gay club by a depraved Islamic terrorist. Then, for political reasons, the Democrats try to distort what happened there by blaming the gay victims. Why would a gay person ever vote for them?
