We all remember Katie Couric. She's the perky reporter who used to be on network TV but who now works for Yahoo News. She's the star of a new documentary promoting gun control. For the last few weeks, she's been in hot water because the world learned that the film was deceptively edited to make the NRA people being interviewed look like idiots. Couric asks a simple question and then the film added a nine second period of the NRA people just sitting there saying nothing as if they had no answer. Fortunately for the truth, one of the people being interviewed had recorded the actual event and played it back thus proving that Katie and her producer/editor were lying about what had happened.
At first, Katie denied that any such thing had happened, but now she has admitted it. Katie even says she's "sorry". But now things have gotten worse.
In an interview the producer of the movie told a reporter that she had sent a member of the staff from Colorado (where the filming was done) to Arizona to buy firearms without having to go through background checks. For those who are not aware of the law, buying the guns and moving them in interstate commerce without a full background check violates a whole slew of federal criminal laws. In other words, Katie Couric and her producers are all accessories to federal crimes.
Does anyone think they will be prosecuted by the Justice Department?
