Land of No Hope

In 2008, Barack Obama captivated the electorate with his theme of "Hope and Change".  It's amazing to think about that, especially today when Hillary Clinton has finally clinched the nomination of the same Democrat party by running on a slogan that could best be called "No Change At All".  Perhaps we should add "and NO HOPE EITHER" at the end.

Think about it.

1.  The economy is limping along and the signs are ominous that a recession is coming.  The GDP is hardly growing and fewer and fewer jobs are being created.  Hillary's economic plan, however, is to keep doing what Obama is doing. NO CHANGE.

2.  American foreign policy has sunk into a morass in Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria and even Libya.  We have troops fighting in those places but not that many.  We have only enough so that some Americans can die in the fighting, but not enough so that we can win the wars and end the fighting.  Hillary makes clear that she will not change this policy either.  NO CHANGE.

3.  The borders of America are no longer guarded in a meaningful way to keep out illegal aliens.  President Obama announced executive action to stop enforcement and to give quasi-legal status to millions of illegals even though such a move is not allowed by the law.  Obama has tried to act as a dictator in this regard.  Hillary's plan is for more of the same except she wants to go even further to stop enforcement of the immigration laws.  NO CHANGE.

There's more, but no matter where one looks, one cannot find any meaningful change that Hillary seeks from the present mess.  Put it all together and there's NO HOPE.

It seems odd that the party of hope and change could so quickly become the party of no change and no hope.  Of course, as Obama might say, "If you like your doctor you can keep your doctor."  Or to put it in Hillary's terms "I never sent or received classified information on that email system."
