It Seems That Obama Meant What He Said

This morning, president Obama's weekly radio address was about the need for Congress to pass yet another spending bill. This time Obama is pushing for Washington to shovel more cash to the states so that they can continue to pay the high costs of public employees. It is a speech that tells us a great deal about Obama and his view of the economy.

First, during the week that Wisconsin voted to keep governor Scott Walker and his policy of requiring state workers to pay for part of their health insurance and also to contribute to their pensions, Obama is still pushing in the other direction. Obama is not telling the public employee unions to tone down their demands for ever growing benefits and pension plans that no one in the private sector ever gets. Instead, he is asking all Americans to borrow more from China so that states can continue to pay golden benefits and pensions. One would think that the Wisconsin vote makes clear that even in the blue states the taxpayers do not want to go further into hock so that public employees can get much higher salaries and benefits than the private employees in the area.

Second, in yesterday's supposed flub when Obama said that the private economy is fine, Obama also said that the area that needs help is the public sector. Obama specifically pointed out that states and localities need more funds from Washington to protect the jobs and benefits of all of the public workers. Then, today, Obama says this again. If there was any doubt that Obama actually meant what he said yesterday, today's repetition of the points in the radio address removes any question about it.

This position is so extreme and, I believe, so clearly demonstrates that Obama has no clue about how the economy works, that it leads me to a suggestion for Obama's campaign. The Obamacrats have been looking for a new slogan for the candidate. My suggestion is that the president use "Ma!" on his bumper stickers, buttons and websites. In case you do not understand the meaning, "Ma" is the end of Obama.
