Ever hear of the Take Back the American Dream conference? Unless you are frequently on progressive sites or site all day in front of a TV tuned to MSNBC, chances are that this conference is something new to you. In actual fact, however, the TBAD conference is a melange of far left interest groups that descend on DC each year to thrill each other with the claimed worthiness of their cause and to plan for political activism for the next year. The Tbadders are an interesting group. (I know, after all the Tea Party smears from these folks, I could not resist calling them Tbadders.) On the first day of the conference, they were addressed by Van Jones. Jones, as you may recall, is the guy who used to be president Obama's green jobs tsar until the truth about his background became widely known. Somehow, Jones' old days of being a Communist did not sit well with many, and he had to go. Today at the TBAD conference, the big address is coming from Paul Krugman and Chris Hayes. Hayes is the guy who said he was unable to call those soldiers who died for this country heroes. Krugman, of course, is the economist whose work focused on the economics of foreign trade but who now spouts non-stop nonsense about the glories of more government spending. Their topic is about "ending" the current "depression." You have to wonder if the Obama folks are happy to hear that this big group of supporters considers the USA to be in a depression.
In any event, I hope the Tbadders enjoy their conference. I have a feeling they are not going to enjoy much else this year. Of course, since this is a group that is only happy when it is miserable, they may like this.
